Searched recent posts on people having the same issue - problem is that I am not very computer savy.

I was able to download the partition mini-tool however it doesn't seem to allow me (when I select the reserved partition) to change it's size - the button/option isn't available.

What do I do.

Any help on this would be hugely appreciated.

Which procedure are you following?  I am not familiar with the partition mini-tool you mentioned.

Basically I am hoping for a simple fix to my problem: make sure there is enough room in the reserved partition so that the Windows 10 upgrade works.  Right now everytime I choose to upgrade from 8.1 to 10 it crapts out saying theres and error with the reserved partition.

When I use minitool Paartition Wizard 9.0 it shows the reserved partition as 120MB whereas I believe it needs to be atleast 500MB available for the upgrade to work.

Online posts suggested using the software to resize partitions - in particular the reserved partition so that there would be ample room for Windows 10 upgrade.  The only other available solutions involved looked like command prompt configuration.  I am not computer savy enough - hence it was recommended I could use a GUI software to resize the partition needed.

Thanks but this is the tool I have and tried using.  The problem using it is that it doesn't let me expand the reserved partitioin, the button doesn't appear whereas when you select other drives it does.

Thanks - downloaded and installed.

But again unfortunately the partition that is labelled reserved once selected has the resize option (button) disappear. I am pretty sure I am doing things right its just when I select the reserved partition it doesn't give me the option. I am quite surprised there isn't a direct link or solution on the web as my laptop is maybe 6 months old and I am sure there's other XPS users out there wanting to upgrade to Windows 10
