Upgrade Tool.zip, is it necessary?

Hi, I recently acquired a used Latitude CPtV . It had Windoze 2000 on it, and I did a clean install of XP Pro. The system install went perfectly on this Pentium III notebook, and it started out with a fdisk of the drive. I have been browsing the Dell driver downloads at http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/and found a "upgrade tool.zip" file for XP . My question is whether I need to install and run this tool as I already did the XP install with no apparent problems? I wonder if not running it may somehow limit the functionality of this six year old laptop? Thanks for your response! Klawda

The WinXP upgrade tool that you are referring to is to help people determine if there system can run WinXP.  Obviously, yours can.

There is no need for you to run that file.
