Upgrading Me to XP: uninstall NAV?
I am about to upgrade my Dimension 8100 with Me to XP. I ran Microsoft's "Upgrade Advisor" and took care of most of the recommended updates of software and drivers, etc. My question is what to do with Norton Antivirus (NAV) 2004. The advisor says it is not compatible, although the NAV documentation claims otherwise. I am leery of NAV, because previously I had to uninstall it and it was extremely difficult. I plan to install XP without wiping the disk. Should I uninstall NAV or not?

You should format the hard drive and clean install WinXP, as has been documented in this forum on countless occasions. Upgrade installations frequently result in all sorts of problems after the fact, and are not recommended.
