Upgrading to Windows 10 - Monitor error
When I try to upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10 I keep getting a message that Windows 10 will not run on this PC because "The display is not compatible with Windows 10..." I have upgraded the monitor driver (9GR6N) with same result. I have a dual monitor set up with a HP monitor (HP w2338P) as the secondary monitor. Disconnecting this 2nd monitor does not help.
I previously posted this problem on the Dell Monitor forum and was assured that the monitor and driver were not the issue.
Any suggestions?

I have the exact same issue. I am desperate for a solution because I don't want to miss out on the free upgrade to Windows 10. My monitor is the Dell 1908 FP and the desktop is a Omniplex 745.

The U2413 monitor does have the Windows 10 driver,

so the fault is not with the monitor nor its driver. The fault must lie in your computer and its drivers, either Chipset or Video.

Any monitor built before 2013 will not get Windows 10 specific drivers. The 1908FP was built in 2008. The Windows 10 operating system will see the monitor as Generic PNP. You should still be able to use the monitors optimal resolution. But this is all moot because the 10 year old Optiplex 745 was also never validated to run Windows 10 =
