Users

Hi all.  Today my computer magically erased the Administrator User nad now I cna't really do anything on the computer because it keeps saying that I need to contact the Administrator for these changes.  Again the problem is that when I go to "users" the only one showing is the "limited" user.  Is there any way to bring back or create a new administrator?

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks

jurgs,

You may be able to do it through the system administrator account. If you are using Windows XP Home, boot to Safe Mode (XP Pro allows you to do this in Normal Mode). At the Welcom screen press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice. On the login screen enter Administrator as the user name and leave the password box blank. If Windows logs you on you can create a new administrator account for yourself.

Denny,

Thank you very much.  That did the trick.  Everything is up and running again.  I appreciate you taking the time to help.
