using compression tool in Word

Question

Currently running Dell Demension 8400,Intel (R4), Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3 3.00 GHZ, 2.99 GHZ, 512 MB OF RAM, Microsoft Word sp3  My problem is trying to use a tool in word that compresses picture file sizes to reduce the overall file  size of a document. Within this program you have an option to reduce the file size of one picuture or all pictures in the document you are working with. However I have been unable to make this tool work and subsequently I have been unable to reduce the file sizes of documents I have inserted pictures into. Also I have been using a Kodak Easyshare program Is there anyone out there that could please advise me on this situation or tell me where I could otain help with it?

Catalina II,   You might want to post your query on the MS Office/Works board:  http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board?board.id=sw_office2000   Those folks know a lot more about Word's quirks than I do.   Tony
