Hi tomx2,

When you connect the computer to an electrical outlet or install a battery while the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, it checks the battery charge and temperature. If necessary, the AC adapter then charges the battery and maintains the battery charge.

There is no option to disable the battery and to make the system run only on Ac adapter. It will balance the power source between battery and Ac adapter.

To know more about improving the battery life, you can go through this link:

Since the system is not turning on only with the Ac adapter, follow the steps given in the link below to trouble shoot the issue:

thanks,

I found the problem.

The  wall outlet i was plugging my  adapter in was not set-on (Never used this particular outlet before in my house)..

So the battery was actually being activated correctly.

Since I am working at home, I release the  battery from the laptop, and use the power outlet specifically.

Probably in 1 week I will use the battery just to keep it active,

One quick question before i retire this thread,

I hear the fan comes on periodically, Is it timed or does it start-up under certain conditions.

thanks.

tom

Hi Tom,

The fans will function depending on the load on the processor. In case you are working on high graphics program the fan will spin more comparing when you are working on simple applications (for example: word)
