Hi,
A slowdown with run.dll error can be a trojan/worm.  Virus and spyware scanners often do not find them.

Run these online scans and see if anything is found.

Hey
Ive been on vacation for a while
Its been heaven not having to deal with my comp...
Anyways, thanks for the links, Ive given both of them a shot, found a couple things. Theyve all been cleaned. The problem is still here....
Any more suggestions

EDIT
I also noticed that the error is coming from WildTangent. The spyware scans told me it was potentially unwanted so I got it cleaned, I guess some of it is still left if needs run.dll
So Im starting to think that this isnt my main problem. It might be more internal...

If the run.dll error is related to Wild Tangent you need to find the file and get rid of it.

Check in msconfig
Start/Run/ msconfig
Startup
Keep the page open then go to link below.

Read the Key at foot of page, then click on “Here” at top. Use the Search box to check all your entries
This site will tell you what all your msconfig entries are and whether they are nasty.

If you find anything bad you should disable it in msconfig but that will not remove it.  You will have to run the following programs to get rid of them completely
HijackThis is the program which you will probably have to run to remove them, but it is necessary to run these others first

Update it before running it

Spybot Search and Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
Update it before running.  Get it to fix all the RED entries it finds

Then if the problem persists download HijackThis as it will definitely sort the rest for you
HijackThis   http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Unzip it to a permanent folder of its own, not directly on the desktop and not directly on the C:\ drive. Create a folder in My Documents and keep it in there.
Run the program and get it to create its log which you should post in the HijackThis forum here.  Do not try to interpret the scan yourself.

This seems to be working.
Ive turned off a lot of the unneeded startup items, deleted WildTangent.
The startup is running smooth for now
Thank you dunedin!:smileyvery-happy:
