Virtual Memory - Disable?
I've allocated 0mb for Virtual Memory to disable it. Will I have performance issues down the road? I'm thinking that I have sufficient physical memory to support all the applications that I run. I've been disabling virtual memory for all my computers for a while and haven't had a problem but lately my Inspiron has been slowing down. Are there any computer savvy guys here knowledgable with this type of issue? My page file usage is almost always in the 460-580mb range.. probably more when I'm running a game or using Photoshop. Any cons to allocating no space for virtual memory?
Also, this is off the topic for this thread but McAfee's Personal Firewall tray icon makes my CPU usage go up to 100% all the time. (MpfTray.exe) It gets bad enough that it takes me a whole minute to load my browser, and it makes video playback choppy. I just removed it from my registry so it wont start up again. Some bad programming there.. or is it just me?

You already have 2GB RAM; it should be enough. Tune the other parts of your system, e.g. applications or spyware cleaning.
Virtual memory is already a culprit of slowing the system down, though i cannot imagine why it's still using up to 500MB of vm...
