Virus Program will not uninstall

Inspiron 530; Vista; 2 GB Memory; Video card: Intel Graphics Media Accel: 3100 and Monitor 22 inch flat panel:
I have Spy/Bot, however trying to uninstall results in "\unins 000.dat does not exist - Cannot uninstall " ?
Program shows Spy/bot installed with 21.1 MB.
How can I uninstall Spy/bot?

This simply means that one of the data files (unins000.dat) which the uninstall routine requires is either missing or corrupt. Then easiest way to correct this is to install Spybot again and THEN unistall it. The install should create the missing file and then the uninstall should work properly.

I didn't think you could use Spybot with Vista, but on my XP computers you can uninstall by using Start, All Programs, Spybot, Uninstall Spybot. Skip the Control Panel Add/remove programs uninstall routine. BTW, Spybot is not an antivirus program. It is a powerful anti malware program. You need to have another program for virus protection.

Well Mary, you can. The latest Vista compatible version was released in early September.

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility has helped removing many programs...

Thanks to all for the input. Re-installation of Spy/Bot did the trick  and was easily uninstalled after wards.. I know that Spy/bot finds spyware and does the job intended. I have used AVG Free anti-virus for the past 3 years with great success and now use it with my new system --Visa. however, I am thinking I should have stayed with Windows ProXP.
