Vista activation and Dell laptops

Question

If I have to re-install Vista on my laptop (I'm getting Vista Business with the machine), do I have to re-activate it every time? I tend to have to re-install my OS about once every year. (I know with WinXP, Dell had it set up so that it didn't have to be reactivated after install because it was an OEM copy. Does this apply to the Vista DVDs originally shipped with new computers from Dell?)

you won't be asked to activate you dell OS copy on a dell system.

Unless a Motherboard replacement is done,  is very unlikely you need to re-activate.

I have reinstalled the Vista Business in my DELL LAPTOP (Vostro 1700) by using a Microsoft Vista DVD we have in the office. Now it is saying it can't activate because the key is invalid. I have put the same key which comes with the laptop (the one stamped in the base of the laptop).

Could anyone help me please?

I have formated HDD, partition it, then reinstall windows vista but I can not activate windows, help me please!

I typed product key but in the message box: invalid key. I do not know why?
