Office 2003 will work fine, OfficeXP not sure, and I don't think so...

And to open Office2007 on Office 2003 check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923505

Office XP and 2003 are both good on Vista.

If you are creating documents on Office 2007 that you will need to access on a computer running an earlier version of Office, you will need to save down to that version by using the "save as..." function and then using the earlier format as your save option.

I think there is also a download that you can use that will help with compatibility issues but I am not sure if that is just a viewer or if it opens the files for editing.

I apologize if Office XP doesn't work, I listened to an office mate, didn't check the MS site, they have a compat. list on there somewhere.

For what it's worth - I'm running Office 2000 Professional on my E1505 laptop with Vista. Ed

in Vista, Office XP, 2003, and 2007 will work. XP may try to update to SP3 (i think that is the SP), and it will fail. I dont know if that can be worked around.

Very interesting  EFERG -- only wish I could say the same for my E1505 with Vista Home Premium.

I gave up on Office 2000 Professional and installed Office 2000 Standard.
Still get box saying need this-or-that. But when check msn.support I get all updates installed.

So Outlook unusable. Workaround has been IncrediMail.

Any suggestions?

RE: Office 2000 Professional & Vista Home Premium

I have not tried to use Outlook, but I'm not surprised it doesn't work.

Word, Excel and Access work fine though.

Thanks.   Assume same for Office 2002.

Still annoying for msn to affirm I have all updates, and then comes a box saying I need to update!

Thanks for suggestion.

Having purchased both Office 2000 Professional & Office 2003 Standard, I'm too cheap to spend more -- and face same problem next year.
