Vista loading problems

Question

Hi All,   Some help would be musch appreciated here, my Dell Inspiron is only about 6 months old if that and last night turned on my laptop for it to start some bios funnies and the message 'Replacing invalid secuirty ID with default security ID file for XXXXXXX' it went on scrolling like that for about 15-20 minutes. I searched for that message in the internet who said it's legit and let it run. Then once it has finished it asked me if i wanted to boot into windows normally so naturally i did.   However it just stops when it goes to load the login screen. So it get's passed the BIOS and the microsoft corperation lines going across the screen and i got the vista logo then that's it black screen with a mouse cursor.    So i loaded the windows vista CD and tried a repair .. still the same problem and then i tried loading the dell diags and went through doing allt he system check and hardware checks again no problems were found with the machine, buti still get the same problem.    I'd rather not have to do a clean reinstall of vista if i can help it, but has anyone else heard of this happeneing?    Thanks in advance   sol-aero

'Replacing invalid secuirty ID with default security ID file for XXXXXXX' it went on scrolling like that for about 15-20 minutes'   Last time that happened to me on an XP installation, I had to clean re-install, something corrupted the security descriptors, probably malware.
