that's vista's user account control.  this is normal and in my opinion, not a big deal (as it only takes half a second to click OK).

all operating systems (including mac OSX and linux) have this feature.  microsoft has only just introduced it with vista and for whatever reason, people are whining about it.  it's only there to protect your computer.

my advice - leave it alone and get used to it.

Before I tell you this, let me emphasize that I DO NOT RECCOMMEND YOU DOING THIS. Confirming running a file is no big deal, and goes a long way to help keep your system safe from malicious execution of code.

Now, if you go to your User Accounts Control Panel app, and view your account, there will be a task listed in the sidebar to Turn User Account Control (UAC) off or on. Click that link and and clear the checkbox that saya "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on". Restart your machine, and you should have gotten rid of fthe message.

You will get a red shield in the systray every time you start your system that gives you a message that UAC is off. You cannot get rid of this, short of turning it back on. It is only a warning message and will not interrupt your use of the system.

THINK REAL HARD BEFORE YOU DO THIS!
