What gadgets do you have installed?  It may be that one of them is causing the problem.

Which gadgets? The default ones that are there when you boot Vista for the first time - lol.

 

I have since removed the headlines one - I've had it crash with just the clock. These things work no better than the little add-on programs that I tried years ago - I am constantly having them "stick" and lose their opacity, forget to be "on top" and have the little pop-up menus get stuck on.

 

The gadgets seem to live up to their name as I am having to fiddle with them frequently.
