sorry if this has been asked before but i was wondering if there is a definitive guide to upgrade my dell from xp to vista.

 

i am going to wait for vista service pack 1 before bying it but was wondering what to do to prepare my system.

 

i dont mind wiping my computer for a fresh install but want to maximise my hard drive.

xp dell has a hidden two gig partition and i want that reallocated. can it be done or is it lost.

i have a 40mb partition that has a diagnostic partition that i want to keep

i am also happy to get rid of the dell restore.

any help appreciated
