VXD uhcd error + Bluescreen on shutdown. Suspected USB issue.
I've got an older PC that's still using Windows 98 first edition (It runs older software packages for me). A week or so ago it started blue screening whenever it was shut down with the error message A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:FF03A1DA in VXD uhcd. I'm pretty certain that this indicates a USB problem, and about that time (I can't remember if it was the same day butit was certainly around that time) I did swap the old PS2 mouse and keyboard for a new USB mouse and keyboard so it's a fair be that this is the source of my problem. Is there way way to resolve this without having to ditch my USB periferals. The mouse and keyboard didn't come with any drivers or discs. W98 seemed to recognize them OK at the time and they work OK while Windows is running. I don't have access to a Windows 98 SE disc.

At the least, I'd recommend swapping the mouse and keyboard back to see if the problem goes away. If it does then you know what the problem is and can try some other things to fix it (different USB drivers for Win98, perhaps drivers for the mouse and keybaord, etc). If the problem doesn't go away, then you know it may not be a problem due to the new hardware.
