Weird Processes

My little boy decided that he wanted some program and downloaded it from limewire or something similar. i'm not entirely sure, but he run an apparent keygen rather than asking for me to purchase it and now in my task manager weird processes are there. I am finding it hard to diagnose which process is the bad once since there are 95 running ones. I have noticed lolla.exe. lolla.exe seems not to bring any information up but it's running, Mcafee internet security suite has not detected anything at current. I can post HJT logs but I don't know where to do that.

Many thanks again :)

Ok but stuff such as microsoft office, nero, Mcafee etc were installed after he did it so the system restore would end up with me speding several hours reinstalling stuff. Anyway to the Hijack this bit :) Thanks alot, quick replies as usual :)

You might get a better answer posting a HJT log in the HijackThis forum since that's where all the virus experts hang out:P

Edit:  Someone beat me to the answer.  Is there a typing forum here?:)

You could do a System Restore to latest date available before he installed the junk. Personal files won't be lost but any micrsoft updates originally installed after the date used for the restore have to be reinstalled.

You can post your HJT log here:

Be sure to read the rules at the top of that forum page first.

And when the system is cleaned up, modify the kid's user account so he doesn't have authority to install anything else! ;)

You might find this handy website useful. This will tell you what is running on your computer; it's also free... the best part !  :smileyvery-happy:

If your son downloads files from Limewire and other peer-to-peer sites, it would be a good idea to run some spyware scans. I particularly like the free SuperAntiSpyware scanner.
