What are XML files?

Under C/Ronnie/local settings/ Temp there  a folder with temp files which I delete regularly, never has a whole lot in it, but since I installed SP2, I have all these XML files, 40-50 of them ever day, I've been deleting them and so far no problem, but where do they come from and is there any way to stop them?  TIA.  Ronnie

I am not sure I can answer this. However here is a site with more information that may help answer your question.

aps@sun:   Its a secutity feature of SP2. When I open one it says " To help protect your sceurity IE has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for details".  I dont see these because I have the information bar disabled, as my ISP has a pop-up blocker, so its something that is always going to be there, but they can be deleted. Thanks for the site.  Ronnie
