Depends on the kind of recovery you want. System Restore: type it in the Start box. To do a factory reset to original configuration: directions here Vista must be the original operating system for a factory reset to work.

In Mary Gs limk there is a miss print 

it says !

• PC Restore does not restore your operating system to its original condition.
• Pressing + fails to display the PC Restore tool.  

•  

  The CTRL + F11 does not restore a computer with Vista !

   

  This does it when you reboot the computer just after the Dell logo goes away

  you press F8 to get to the restore option it should say repair my computer

  then you go from there !!
