what documentation software to use?

hello, I was wondering what documentation software that i can use with vista? I loved microsoft word so much on my past computer i had. I am a college student and need spell check etc, for writing papers and such. What programs can i use in order for me to use these feactures? Is there a microsoft word program that i can use with vista? Please help, i have a paper do for school.

Get a super deal on Microsoft Office 2007 for students here
 
 
use your university email address, must be  .edu
 
 
 
or use open office for free.
 
 
open office "Writer" is equal to Word.

I'd personally go with Office 2007 Ultimate deal, it is a sweet productivity package

I am way beyond student age, but I went with Home Office Student 2007 and Outlook 2007 which which was cheaper than 2007 ultimate when I bought them....
