What is the difference between RecordNow and MyDVD?

As title states, can anyone clue me in to what the difference is between these two programs? I haven't attempted to record to DVD yet with my 8400 system but to me they seem to do the same thing. I'm even comtemplating upgrading to Nero. Do I need to?

You can explore the two programs a little more and glean the difference but essentially, MyDVD is a DVD authoring program used for creating and editing DVD's.

Depending on the version of MyDVD you can create and edit various video, slide shows with sound, etc. and burn them to DVD.  A copy of the saved program on your HDD can be edited at a later date as well.  In other words, this is what you would use to create your own, custom DVD's as opposed to RecordNow's more limited abilities in this regard.

Sonic's RecordNow is your more-or-less all purpose burning software used to copy files, data, music, etc. to CD-R or DVD media.  Think of it this way...if you used MyDVD to create a custom slide show of digital photographs with accompanying sound to play in your home DVD player and wanted another copy then, RecordNow would be able to whip out a duplicate copy of the original.
