Anyone know what Dell will charge for the Windows 7 64 bit upgrade disk?

Hello,

Whatever your system is installed with when you first recieve your machine which appears to be 32-bit means you'll get a 32-bit version of Windows 7.

I'm not sure what the cost would be , I think your best bet is to call them or email.

... then shop around to compare the price Dell are charging, vs buying the full retail boxed Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade from an alternative source :emotion-55:

Bare in mind... the retail boxed product contains both 32bit and 64bit discs, so you have the option of which one you install.

Here are a few examples of what it will cost you elsewhere:

The Home Premium Upgrade (download) costs $120 from Microsoft themselves.  It'll obviously cost extra if you want the boxed product .
However - the retail boxed version is available through Amazon for 'just' $100.99 + $4.99 S&H.
And it's 'only' $112.99 - with FREE shipping, from most everyone on your side of the pond's favourite online store - Newegg.

Those are the sort of typical prices you need to use for comparison, when you check how much Dell are charging :emotion-5:
