Win 8.1 on dimension 3100c

Hi

i'm trying to find out what I need to install after updating to win 8.1 on my dimension 3100c. my invoice says I have an intel media accelerator 900 vga graphics card on a pentium 4 machine. It was originally an xp 32bit machine.  can't find the drivers for this. I've managed to find safe mode although the instructions given by dell on how to do that were ridiculous and have followed the method to uninstall the d

rivers. The problem is I can't see that driver listed anywhere to uninstall it. I've done numerous diagnostics which either don't work or don't find anything wrong.the driver doesnt show in device manager or programmes or even listed under drivers in the windows file explorer.

I can actually get into the computer to use it through task manager randomly and everything seems to function. It's just the front screen thats not working.

Any ideas gratefully recieved!

Thanks

The system has "Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Graphics" which is unsupported in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

For Windows 7 many reported the following driver from HP to work likely it will also work in Windows 8.1 but I'm not sure: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34749.exe

If possible it is best to install a graphics card which has Windows 7/8.1 functionality.

I suggest an HIS 5450 PCIe-x1 discrete video card.

you are responsbile for finding your own drivers as Dell won't provide any for a PC that old

It's Intel's chore to provide these drivers, but they have not done so with non-DirectX 9-compatible video hardware like this since XP.
