See if this helps.
Click Start, Run and type this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
then OK.

I'm just wandering if one of the folders:Shared  Documents is the cause of the problem, I can only open it when the folder is being marked as shared otherwise I'm getting error message Access is denied. Would it be safe to deleate this folder and how can I do it? Right click does not have the option of deleating.

Regards

Try this resolution from Microsoft Support. Create a restore point before changing the registry.

I see that kind of slowness a lot when either there are a number of dead network drives, or when the profile is corrupt.  one thing you could try is creating a new user account, and then logging in on that  to see if you have the same slowness.  That is an easy way to determine if it is related to your profile, or if it is a more global problem.

Control panel > user accounts, create a new user,  log off. log on as the new user. test.
