I have the same problem. After upgrading the 7537 Inspiron 15 7000 series notebook to Windows 8.1 try to install the Dell Manager Backup and Recovery fails with the error message "Factorysetup error 5" during the step to update the PE. The software doesn't get installed. I tried to install the software either starting as a regular user and confirming the UAC question for administrator privileges or running the installation as Administrator. I would also appreciate if somebody has a solution.

I forgot to mention I used the software version Dell_Backup_and_Recovery_1.6.1.1.exe

i also using new version 1.6.1.1
hope dell technical help me solve the problem...
cuz if my laptop damage by virus it should GONE.....
