Art, Assuming that the sub-key is supposed to have a DWORD value and that DWORD value is supposed to be 3, then you are, but how about replying back with the link to the MS article cited, so I can verify. Thanks. Jim McNamara

Thanks for confirming the MS article. I glanced through it previously. It appears that you set up the LSA registry sub-key (LMCompatibility) properly assuming that the chosen value (level 3) is what you want.

I believe 3 is what I want. The article seems to say that 0 is the only other valid value. My changing the value will not be as daunting as adding it.
I got a copy of Reg Organizer by ChemTable Software. It was a lot more intuitive than good old regedit, so I followed their format.
What I'm trying to do here is network my old XPS-500 (old), upgraded with 1.4 Celeron, 98SE with my new XPS-410 Vista. One part is getting NTLM 2 onto the 98SE machine. Still no net but I think I'm getting there.

Once you have highlighted LSA, either from Edit or via a right click, select "New" and you will be able to enter all the required new key information.
