kelsonly,

You cannot use the CD from another computer to upgrade your new system. It is licensed for use only on the compute with which it was sold. Since the aborted upgrade apparently corrupted the existing XP Home installation you will have to do a clean install of XP Home. Instructions for this are here.

that s not true. Seach point s are not legal.

U have the right to install ur Windows of every Computer u like, but just of one Coputer per lisence.

The law says that isn t legal from a Computer faktory to say that the Os only can use on this system, so this point is agains the law and u can just forget this point from the contract.

If Dell has a problem with that its the problem from Dell and not yours ;)

kelsonly,

You can do a clean install of Windows XP Pro using an upgrade CD as long as you have a qualifying operating system to upgrade from (which, with XP Home, you do).
