Windows 10 activation issues

I need to reactivate my Windows 10 installation license. I had ongoing issues with the motherboard, and have a new one installed. the last step now is to Activate Windows. Here is the core of the problem.

Not an easy step with Dell systems it seems. I have contacted Microsoft and they have told me that I need Dell Support to increase my activation count. Due to the SSD that was faulty right from the start, and which I have had to replace together with the motherboard while still under warranty, these interventions have caused the Activation Count to be now depleted. I did not know this will be an issue because I was unaware that it is Dell's setup and it is not everyday you upgrade OS and motherboards, so time has passed and the warranty and support is out.So, I am unable to actually change any of my Win10 settings, because the Activation will not proceed until a kind soul from Dell helps me.
I have tried to call in but I cannot stay on hold during the business hours.
I would really appreciate some help with this issue.

Nothing we can do for you here.

You need to stay on hold with Dell until you speak to someone.

I don't know what you were thinking changing the motherboard yourself.

Everything under warranty should be done through Dell.

Who replaced the mainboard - you, or Dell -- or a third party repair shop?

My son in law, and that was because I had three graphics cards fried by Dell motherboard, he was not happy with its performance. Mind you, this is a PC that is already 1 year out of warranty. No problems since then, however the activation is a big issue for me.

You have until Dec. 31, 2017 to upgrade for free to Windows 10.

That may be easier unless you can get a hold of someone at Dell.
