Windows 2000 logon dont know password
I Just bought a second hand laptop and it has windows 2000 on it and the guy must have forgotten to delete his password because i cannot get logged in.Of course i cant get a hold of him either. I have tried leaving it blank and i have tried going in as a guest and owner i am not sure what else to do is there a way of changing his password without knowing it?

Best bet: reformat and reload the OS.

If this system was on a Domain, do you have a third box where you can drop down a pick list and choose the other (non-domain) choice (the local system name)?
