Great.  Thanks for posting.  I ordered mine on the 26th, so maybe it will ship this week.  Must have patience!

When did you process your order if you don't mind me asking?

On the 21st.  However, I processed 2 orders (same day) & have only gotten a confirmation on 1 so far.  Also, the Tracking # that was sent with my confirmation doesn't seem to work.  It's supposed to be a UPS tracking # but UPS says that it isn't  a valid tracking #.

Thanks. I suppose when UPS picks up their parcels today they will enter them into their system, then you'll be able to track it.

Yep, I didn't get an email, but I now have an estimated ship date of 10/28/2009 under order status.  I ordered mine on the 22nd also.  w00t!

Agree with tinwarble, but I do feel bad for those that are following instructions and still waiting for an email that they can now go in and submit their order (which supposedly was never sent to anyone).  Those of us that were impatient and figured out what to do on our own got in line in front of them.

Yes, One does feel bad for those that haven't received an e-mail, & we can lay that blame on Dell.  But still, I have a hard time complaining about someone who is giving me something for FREE.  Just because there have been some mistakes doesn't mean that we need to act like we're still 4 yrs. old, falling to the floor, kicking & screaming & holding our breath just because we can't have the toy that we want, when we want it.  Some people should realize that there are probably only 10's of people dealing with Millions of upgrade orders.

I didn't get an e-mail on my 2nd order either, but now the "Order Status" on it says that it has been shipped.

I think that a lot of people have just been to excited about getting to play with Windows 7, after all the earliest that 7 was supposed to be shipped was on Oct. 26th (for the English version).  And for those that are complaining about the lack of notice by Dell as to your FREE upgrade, I would say that you should remember that you are getting it for FREE & you probably didn't have to pay for tax or shipping, so cut Dell a little slack.

Just got my email confirmation as well. I place the order on 10-22-09. Way to go Dell.

They must be swamped and just pushing them out the door as fast as possible. I'll take that luck any day.

Checkout this post from someone at notebookreview forums.  Another reason to be optimistic.

"Ordered mine on Oct. 22 and it arrived today. So they are shipping (and quite fast).

I had no status on the Win7 upgrade site but it had an estimated ship date of Nov 1.09. Landed on my disc 5 minutes ago."

It's not a matter of Dell doing anyone a favor, it's a matter of having a little understanding. If you wouldn't have bought your new laptop if it didn't have the FREE upgrade, then you could have saved yourself some money & just bought Windows 7 for $119.00 if that's all that put you over the edge.  Yes it is your right to complain, that is the beauty of this county, you have free speech (for now). But if your going to complain, how about waiting more than one day, (as I said, Windows 7 wasn't supposed to ship until Oct. 26).  Pointing out mistakes isn't complaining, but whining because you didn't get your Christmas present on Thanksgiving is.

It being FREE was part of the deal when I bought the laptop. Its not like Dell is doing a favor on us by giving it away for FREE. Moreover, Microsoft is giving away the FREE upgrade, not Dell. I would've never bought this laptop had it not been for the FREE upgrade. And so they're obligated to fulfill their part of of the deal; and I have every right to complain if they do not do that, or take arbitrary amount of time while keeping their customers in the dark.

Just my 2 cents.
