Windows 7 issue with safe mode
Hello all,
I have had my Dell Inspiron for about 9 months and I have recently noticed that I cannot access safe mode. When I boot into safe mode, I get all the way to the welcome screen, and then the whole computer just reboots. This is an infinite loop and won't stop unless I boot normally. I have tried msconfig, but that didn't work. If anyone has an idea of what I need to do, please let me know. Thanks.

Hello Elijah,
I have a windows 7 OS. I set the MSCONFIG to boot only in safe mode, and it actually took me a while to reset it so it would boot normally because I still couldn't get into safe mode. The major problem is that my Anti-Virus needs me to install in safe mode, but I can't get in safe mode, so I have a very meager anti-virus right now.

What Anti-Virus do you want to install? That is very unusual if it needs to be installed only in Safe Mode. I've never heard of that before.

Looking at the eset support site, there is nothing about installing in safe mode. It details installing either ESET NOD 32 or ESET Smart Security and neither's installation instructions say anything about safe mode.
