windows 7 to windows 10
I have gone from windows 7 to windows 10 via the free upgrade. Now my question is I probably need to upgrade my hdd in the near future and was wondering I know I can reload windows 7 as I have the nessarly discs, but what happens now to get windows 10 again?
Is the free windows 10 available for ever?
Is there a windows 10 disc I can make before I install a new HDD?
How best am I to proceed?

Hi joebloggs,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Please use this link http://bit.ly/1KwZCCq, where you can download Windows 10 and create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD. Once you create a USB flash drive or a DVD for Windows 10, you can upgrade the hard drive and reinstall windows.
Please reply if you have any further questions.

You can download the Windows 10. Windows 10 N and Windows 10 KN editions include the same functionality as Windows 10, except that these versions of Windows do not include Windows Media Player, and related technologies. You can enable the media functionality by installing the Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 (KB3010081). Please refer to this link http://bit.ly/1WLcpVX. The USB flash drive would be a better option.

hi thanks for your reply
i have since had another go and this time I tried the 'create installation media for another pc' rather than the 'upgrade this pc now' and I have managed to get something on a USB stick.
Have I done the right option?

Open File History page and make a System Image (lower left) and store on an external hard drive. Then make a recovery disk on a thumb drive or disk--NOT on a hard drive-- to boot the computer and access the system image when needed.
Free update to win 10 expires 7/29/16. You can also make an install disk for windows 10, but it's for installing or reinstalling the upgrade--not installing on new empty hard drive although you could use after reinstalling win 7 Either way it is handy to have it for repairing win 10.
