Windows 7 upgraded/loaded. Help reloading programs and data

Hello Pltandy here. 

I need help to reload my programs and data on my laptop (Inspiron 1440).  Info needed on which order to load apps, drivers, webcam, roxio, skype, MS office, power dvd, data, etc. 

Used tech support to upgrade to Win7 from Vista.  Tried the upgrade but it failed trying to remove WLAN utility.  Called tech support and the tech had me delete the partitioned disks (from 3 down to 1) and then load Windows 7.  We then updated windows 7.  Tech suggested buying and loadiing pc tune-up program. 

I have loaded 'Fix-It Utilities 10 Proffesional' with 'Driver Genius'  I updated that program and created a backup point.

So now what should I do next?

There is no parition disk now, is that a factor or problem?

I want to have a restore point so that I can go back to maybe next year and start over if needed.

Also how do I get the data (docs, addressbook, contacts, and favorites) I saved by backing up the laptop to my external hard drive(seagate).
