Windows 8 Pro and Latitude E6220 driver issue or????

The feature enhancement pack for Windows 8 32 bit in relation to Latitude e6220 is not completely usable. When you first boot to the login screen ( cold boot and not the lock screen) you do not get the Windows start up sound nor does the fn up/db arrow keys work to change the brightness. The sound up and down works and the back lit KB brightness works. That being said if you log out (not lock) and then do a restart (not power down) it all works and plays the start up sound just as it should until the next time you power if off. This works every time you follow this. I'm guessing something in Win8 is fighting the driver or the driver is not quite right yet. Any comments?????

I found my own answer after more research. Win 8 boots two ways, fast and normal. You'd thin a cold boot would be Norma or slower but noooooo it's the faster boot (go figure). Restart is the normal or slower boot. Now the fast boot doesn't load everything a normal boot does. Sounds kind of dumb but I didn't wright the OS. Attached is a link that will show you how and where or set the boot to normal at all times. Ths fixed my issues.

Hi IT_caveman,

Please flash the BIOS on your computer from the link below for issue resolution.

Flashed to A10 before I installed Win 8 Pro. Did not help issue as I described it. Thanks anyway, maybe some one will come up with a fix or a work around this better than what I'm doing for now

I should also note to my original post that a cold boot (power up) is much faster that a restart (warm boot). It's like the cold boot doesn't initialize everything correctly. Comments anyone?????????
