Windows 8 Product Key Activation
After several attempts of installing fresh install of Windows 8 the OS is requesting Activation of Windows. BIOS shows no Product Key. Hkey\localmachine shows noting as well. Im at wits end. This is a XPS14

following the steps of the link worked. The path to reinstall windows is different then the one I was using. This path used the actual stored partition recovery software.

huh why are you installing Windows 8? If this a DVD you bought, then it should have a Product key
no clue what you are trying to do
are you trying to install an illegal copy of Windows 8?

Purched laptop from dell in july this year. OS was previously installed. Now after thhree weeks I lost the Rapid Start B.S. Tried to update the bios. No work. Now I've re installed the OS three times. The
OS keeps asking to activate. But from what I understnd the product key is embedded in to the motherboard?
So, no its not bootleg.Justbtrying to find a location in dells web site I can order a disk for my service code. Thanks for help
