Windows 8 serial key
I have dell Inspiron 7537 and I need the serial key for windows to perform clean installation for windows 8.1
I contacted dell support to retrieve my windows key but no success , does anyone here can help me with this issue.

The key in hardcoded in the BIOS. If you are using validated installation media, it will pick up the key during the install. If it doesn't, you can use RWEverything to read the key from the BIOS for manual activation. If that doesn't work, you are probably using a version that doesn't match your license (Pro vs. non-Pro, Enterprise, etc.).

You might want to install using a generic key and the retrieve your key from the system BIOS and then use change key.

Thanks a lot for your help , I was able to retrieve the serial key for my windows and it seems that the way you described for windows clean installation is the only way so far.
