I'm looking to buy a new laptop sooner rather than later. I know that I'll be able to upgrade to Windows 8 after it's released.

What I would like to know is what is Dell's policy on supporting Windows 8 on system bought between now and the release date, specifically Windows 8 driver support? Traditionally Dell has balked at supporting OS configurations not shipped with the hardware.

Second question: is the hardware in Dell laptops fully supported by the OS or will I have to install Dell drivers for specific hardware that is not included in Windows 8?
