Hi -- were you able to find a driver for the Dell USB Memory Key? I tried both sites listed by the first reply ($60 subscription on one, and the other one had a driver that didn't work for me or two other people). I have a Dell system... and Dell has certainly been no help!
If you stay on Dell Tech Support long enough, and tell them you've gone over their site and done all the diagnostics, they will eventually email you the site URL where you can download this driver. And this for a piece of equipment they advertise as compatible with Win98 "with additional drivers".
I went through that this weekend, and finally got them to email me the site URL. However, I'm at work and don't have access to that email. I'll post it when I get home.
The first one charges about $50 or $60 for a "subscription"
The second one references a download that doesn't work... I and two other people tried it, and none of us got it to work.
However, see my other post. Dell Tech Support WILL eventually email you a URL for a site that has a driver that works on Win98. I'll post that URL tonight.
I tried installing the Windows 98 drivers off the Dell site (Zip file) for the Dell USB key on my Win 98 computer without success. Then, after reading that my Dell USB key is in fact a Lexar JumpDrive, I went to the Lexar Media site, and downloaded the drivers for Win 98, and it worked. As an added bonus, the Lexar provides a "wizard" type installation that works like a charm - no need to get into technicalities.
Final thought, I think Dell should have provided drivers for Win 98 on the CD's that come with a new system, even though the new system is Win XP, the whole purpose of the USB key is to transfer data, and it's very likely that data would be transfered to and from other systems which do not operate in Win XP.
I tried the link you gave in your email and it didn't work for me. I have Windows 98 on my desktop and a Dell Inspiron Laptop with a 64MB Memory Key. Was there anything else you can tell me about getting it to work? Thanks...

Wonderful advice. I could not get the PNY Flash Drive to work either. Fortunately, I was intelligent enough to figure out it was a driver problem. Unfortunately, other people may not have my limited knowledge. I figured I couldn't call Dell since it wasn't a Dell device. Anyway it your solution worked like a charm. Thanks a lot. (I even became a forum member to reply to you.)
just received a 64 Meg USB Flash Memory Key for X-mas. It worked on my new Dell with XP but not on our Compaq with Windows 98SE. Took hours of searching around but finally found the driver(s) I need and it actually works!!! Here is the link for the new driver(s):
Thanks Mike99999 ~ I too tried all the other driver suggestions, then read your post. It fit my situation to a 'T', I just bought the 64M flash memory key and could not get it to work on Win98. But mine also had the "M-Systems" logo on the box and so I tried the DiskOnKey solution you described, with total success. Now my flash key works on both of my PC's, WinXP and Win98. I recommend this driver suggestion to anyone trying to get their M-Systems USB Flash Memory Key to work on Windows98.
I have a 128mb dell memory key. trying to use on windows 98. went to referred website to download memory key driver and it won't work. does anybody have alternative suggestions?
I too tried a couple of these web sites before I read about the one mentioned by Mike99999, who said:

The tip off was the M-Systems designation on the Memory Key box. These guys must be the new Dell memory key suppliers!"""
This described my situation exactly, so I looked at the box my Memory Key came in and noticed that it also had the M-Systems identifier stamp, so I tried the web site and driver he referred to. AND it worked for my Win_98SE Dell machine. But I suspect there might be more than one version of Memory Key and what works for one, may not work for another. I would read EVERY post in this site on this subject and try them all. Then I would camp on Dell's Tech until they came up with a workable solution.
Thanks to all of you! I went to the Dell support site, as did several others, and attempted the solution posted there. Nothing. Then, I did a Google search for the Windows 98 driver and came upon this entry in the forums. It worked like a charm and boy was it easy! Thanks to Ruff and Mike!
Thanks so much...this was the answer to my issue with my key and Win 98. I had spent quite a few hours trying to resolve the issue and the only place I could find the solution was in this forum. You are awsome!

Your references are no good, because--
The first one charges about $50 or $60 for a "subscription"
The second one references a download that doesn't work... I and two other people tried it, and none of us got it to work.

But... thanks for your help!

The Lexar site is: http://www.digitalfilm.com/drivers/index.html - and I picked Win98 SE, USB JumpDrive 1.0.
I hope this helps, and Good Luck!

Hello scwelch,
I too tried a couple of these web sites before I read about the one mentioned by Mike99999, who said:
