windows address book is missing

Hi to the members and my colleagues here.  This time when I try to open my outlook express 6 mail it won't open!   I keep getting error messages like my windows address book is missing or that outlook express is not configured properly. That I should reinstall it.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and I still get those messages about the address book!!   If anyone knows how to fix this I would be enthralled to hear from them A/s/a/p!
                                          Thanks,

JimJam1,

Uninstalling and reinstalling IE6 will replace your e-mail messages and address book with default copies; i.e. empty folders.  If you're really lucky, you can find a backup copy of the address book in the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\ yourusername\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\ yourusername.wa~ .

Since this is the same location as your new address book, you can simply rename the existing yourusername.wab and then rename the backup copy to yourusername.wab.  Alternatively, you can rename it to something like old.wab and then use Outlook Express Import feature to import the old address book into your new address book.

Hope this info helps.

Tony

PS: Don't know why those extra spaces got added into my instructions.  Looks fine in Edit mode.
