WINDOWS AUTO DETECTION PROBLEM!!!
hi guys, you know when you plug a USB device (in my case its a DigiTrex DSC-3000 digital camera) and an auto detect window pops up telling the prefered device to use? lately im not seeing that anymore, what could be the problem? usually when i plug my devices it gives me a selection to how to download it and which program to use blah blah.. and also, the "safely remove" hardware logo at the bottom of my screen is no longer there too.. when i plug my camera, i went to admin tools/local services and the shell Hardware detection is set to automatic so i dont think thats the problem. any sugggestion on how can i fix this would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Did you try Reinsalling the drivers/software that came with your camera?
If you do not have the disk I am sure you can download it from the manufacturers website.
*Edit* - Make sure the camera is unplugged before you install it
