Windows Driver Foundation?

I have a brand new 9200 running XP.  The system is now not recognizing my portable MTP device.  It was a few weeks ago.  I tried uninstalling and then installing drivers, but when I plug my Creative Zen Vision M into the USB plug, this is the message I get:

"Windows Driver Foundation - User mode driver framework host process has encountered a problem and needs to close"

When I hit debug I get this: "The installation at 0X01013of5 reference memory 0x000000 memory could not be read".

I do not have the drivers on a disk and I was hoping someone had seen something like this before for their device and could tell me what direction to take and what and who the problem is with.

Thanks

Panther61,
The Windows User Mode Driver Framework (UMDF) basically supports creation of drivers for protocol-based or serial-based bus devices.  A  driver manager program is available to debug, enable/disable and remove drivers currently running in your Windows XP operating system.   Use of the Driver Manager is best left to those very familiar with the inner workings of Windows.

I would recommend that you use System Restore to restore your system to a date when your device was working properly.  In addition, I recommend that you do a complete system scan for a possible virus or spyware infection.  Update your antivirus and antispyware programs prior to the scans.

You can also check the status and repair Windows protected system files in the following manner:
Click on Start|Run.  Type sfc /scannow.  Press Enter.  You will need your Windows XP operating system CD in the event a corrupt or incorrect file is found.

I hope these suggestions help resolve your problem.
