Windows Explorer error message

Question

I keep geting windows explorer error. when it pop up bottem of screen go away then come back in 3-4 sec.

Error reporter say

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 01d0640e

you might need know i have

DIMENSION 24000

Microsoft Windows XP

Professional version 2002 service pack 2

Intel(R)

Pentium (R) 4 CPC 2.80GHz

2.79GHz, 768 MB of RAM

If any one know what do please help

Scanned for malware lately?

Are you sure that message doesn't say " iexplorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName..."? And in which case, it's a problem with Internet Explorer v6.0.

You'll probably need to uninstall IE by going to the Add/Remove Programs control panel, then click Add/Remove Windows Components button on left edge of screen. Uncheck IE. Exit and reboot; go back to that same screen and recheck the IE box. You'll probably need your XP CD. Reboot and then go directly to the Microsoft update site to download all the IE v6 updates again. Don't surf or read email until you have all the IE updates installed.

yes i have Scanned for malware and there was none yes it said explorer.exe   my Internet Explorer is not v6.0  it is 7.0 i dont have xp cd

If your system is recent, contact Dell Tech Support and request the XP CD and all drivers & utility CDs for this system, assuming they were never sent. If you lost the XP CD, you'll have to purchase another copy.

If you recently installed IE7, you may want to uninstall it and reinstall IE6. File number in that error message, according to google, seems to refer to IE6.
