windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt. status: 0xc00000e9

the erroe message says:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware ir software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. insert your windows installatiom disc amd restart your computer.

2. Choose your language setting, and then click "Next."

3. click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

File: \Windows\system32\config\system

Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry fike is missing, or corrupt.

I have the disk but it does not go where the above stated.  after a few clicks .. tryunbg safe mode and othe choices... it eventually goes back to this scree

Hi sirmannyx 

I would suggest you to run Dell diagnostics on the system. To run Dell diagnostics, Turn on the system, press at the initial Dell logo screen, and select Diagnostics from the boot menu.

Please revert with the results.

This window came up...

Error code 0146

Msg: Error Code 2000-0416

Msg: Hard Drive 1 - Self test log contains previous error(s)

The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to help diagnose the problem.

Do you want to continue testing?

          Yes or No or Retry

...

I clicked yes

10 minutes later its still doing memory test activity.. I'll add to this if there are more errors that pop up

I would like to inform you that Error Code 2000-0146 indicates hard drive failure. I would suggest you to replace the hard drive.
