At this time, I don't feel as though the article matches well enough to warrant editing the registry.  I have not recently installed either Norton Antivirus, nor IBM antivirus.  I also have not observed the event ID in my event viewer.

Any more suggestions?

Do a search on Google for the error. This is an odd error I've never seen before. Perhaps booting to the xp cd and doing a repair would help.

I've already searched on Google and Microsoft Support to no avail.  (This doesn't mean the answer isn't there, simply that I did not find it.)

As my copy of Windows was originally installed by Dell, MS prefers that I receive my tech support through Dell.  Recently, I have had poor experiences using Dell's phone tech support, and fantastic results from perusing the Dell Community forum.

Thanks for your help.  Sometimes a reformat is the only thing that will do.
