Windows Mail doesn't remember contacts

I have Vista and windows mail does not remember contacts most of the time.  Can anyone suggest a solution?

Also I am unable to add new contacts.  I used easy transfer to transfer my contacts from my old computer which had XP.

Thank you.

Windows contact seems to only remember the people you send mail to most.  At least that is what it appears to me.  However, I have no problem clicking on the contact button and adding the person I need to.

Are you trying to add a contact manually, adding a contact by right clicking on the sender and add to contacts or are you trying to import a file from XP contacts??   Are you missing the Import, Export, New Contact and New Contact Group from your Contacts toobar?

If so, Open your Windows Contacts folder.  Right click in the folder and select Customize this folder.
Under the Customize Tab you should see Use this folder type as a template:
Press the drop down arrow and choose Contacts.
Press the Apply Button

You should now have the Contacts Toobar.

Thank you for your response.  I solved my problem by downloading Windows Live Mail.  It's a much better system.
