Windows Mail will not store ISP Account password?

I cannot store the internet service provider passwort in the account menue, although the box "Save Password?" is ticked. Next time I want to send mail, the user/password request appears again. When I open the account information properties again, the password field is blank again.

Thanks for any suggestion.

I've seen that if the ISP's log on server is having problems.  It won't properly detect your password (or user name) and then a box will pop up to enter the password again.

If this is something that just started, check today and see if it's still doing the same thing.

When you look at the properties of the account under Windows Mail, do you have checked My server requires authentication on Outgoing Mail Server ?

Click the Settings button and either select the button Use same settings as my imcoming mail server or select Log on using  and fill in your E-mail username and password.  Under this setting is a check mark to remember password.
