The error report states:   Explorer caused an error in VX2.dll and will close.  It also will state internet explorer caused an error in VX2.DLL whe I try to open internet explorer.

If the error continues to occur restart windows.  That don't work.

I can no longer open up "My Computer", Network places, etc.  It will not restore to an earlier date.

It all started when while on the internet and internet explorer shut down with an error.  It asked if I wanted to send an error report and when it closed, it keep on occuring and internet explorer would never come back up.  I have internet explorer 6.0.2800.1106  Build 62800.1106.

It looks like your system is loaded up with spyware and internet parasites.  See the message at the top of this forum by ChrisRLG and follow his advice:

Spybot and Ad-Aware should take care of the vx2.dll error.

Steve,

I downloaded the new version of Ad Aware and it cleaned all the junk out.  It found 186 peices of junk and cleaned it out.  I have Internet explorer again and I can get back into "My Computer".

Thanks so much,

I really do appreciate the help!!!!

John

If spybot found that many, I would expect others to still be arround, carry on with the rest of that pegged post, copy below:-
-----------------
Use these to remove Malware (Spyware and Adware).

1) SpyBot Search and Destroy
After installing SpyBot Search & Destroy, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds.

2) Get Ad-Aware
After installing Ad-Aware, and before running the program, first press “check for updates now".
Click "Connect" and install all updated components available. Click 'Finish'.
Press "Scan Now", then 'next', and let Ad-Aware scan your drives.
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again.
Check all found items, and click 'next' once more.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Always reboot the computer between each program - both of these may find things that they need to have a reboot of the machine to clear - please reboot and let them finish .

Failing those solving your problems a post of a hijackthis log for the experts to advise.
