Windows Media Player 10
I previously installed version 10. Then while using Photo Story 3, I got an error message that said Window Media Player 10 maybe corrupt and to reinstall it. I tried but it would not reinstall. So I deleted the version on my system and tried to install version 10 again. Same problem. It won't install! Any clues.

Actually WMP10 is listed in Add/Remove- but not by that name. The "newer version" that your computer is detecting is one of the WMP10 hotfixes. So before you can reinstall a fresh version, you will have to uninstall any and all WMP hotfixes listed in Add/Remove. Be sure that the "Show Updates" box at the top is checked first.
Then download/install a fresh copy of WMP10 from: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=
