Windows Media Player not recognized?

I downloaded windows media player v.11 and installed. When I go to CNN News and click on videos, I get a screen that says "No windows media players detected" "Get The Player". Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to make it work? When I go to Fox News the videos work. I have 20 years experience with Macs, but this is my first PC.

Using IE7?  if so go to tools/internet options/advanced tab  scroll down to "enable third party browser extensions" and untick the box. Hit OK  close all instances of IE.
Open IE and try again.
 
 
 
It's possible it is a problem on the CNN site. And there is nothing you can do about it.
 
What is a 20 year Mac veteran doing on a Windows box? It must be awful.:smileywink:

Hey mombodog, thanks for the reply. :) No, I have been using Firefox mostly for a browser. It seems to load faster, on my limited internet access. I did go to IE, Media Player and it worked fine. I was hoping someone could tell me what is wrong on Firefox. Sorry I forgot to mention my browser.

Yes, I finely got tired of not being able to do some things on the Mac, (gaming applications) mostly. :) I'm really not a whiz with puters anyway.
